Master of Divinity
The Mars Hill Graduate School Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree emerges from the belief that theology is alive only as it is lived in community. Through an exploration of the interplay of text, soul, and culture, the degree embodies the tensions and paradoxes of Christian faith as we engage with the world. Committed to academic excellence and relational integrity, we seek to be a healing presence within the global community, developing innovative leaders in the service of the body of Christ.

What Makes the MDiv Unique?
MHGS believes that an effective Master of Divinity degree should prepare the student to interweave an understanding of the Biblical text, the human soul, and culture. The MHGS Master of Divinity program asserts an integrated approach allowing students to form Christian worldviews from the interplay of spiritual, cultural, and psychological studies. Our MDiv program emphasizes theological reflection as well as relational and spiritual growth.

Student Profile - Austin Locklear
Entering Mars Hill Graduate School as an MDiv student I only hoped for the holistic transformation in my life that has been set into motion. Relationally, I have been humbled by the love and care of students and teachers alike who have invited me into their lives and tenderly held my hand and heart as I have led them into my own. While my views concerning Christ, church, and community are ever changing, Mars Hill Graduate School has embodied a theology dedicated to interpersonal relationships, Christian tradition, and incarnational living unlike any other place I have ever known.
